Hi !!!!!! I'm MT and i will be posting my views on the most awaited tournament of the year ie The Ashes. Well for those of you who don't know about Ashes let me give you a brief introduction.
The Ashes is a bilateral test series played between Australia and England since 1882. It is international crickets most celebrated rivalry. "The Ashes" now comprises five Test matches, two innings per match, under the regular rules for international Test-match cricket.

The series is named after a satirical obituary published in an British newspaper, The Sporting Times, in 1882 after the match at The Oval in which Australia beat England on an English ground for the first time. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia. The English media then dubbed the next English tour to Australia (1882–83) as the quest to regain The Ashes.

Lets now talk about this years ashes. Just before the start of the first test the aussies got a meaty blow as their strike bowler Brett Lee was ruled out of the first test due to a shoulder injury. There were mixed responses from the ex-cricketers regarding Lee's unavailability for the first test. But i must confess that the kind of cricketer Brett Lee is his absence will always be felt.
